Skew Chisel part 2

I really enjoyed part 1 of Brendan Stemps foray into the dark world of the skew chisel. I have posted a link to that session in another post on this site. In part 2 he really does show what can go wrong in a spectacular fashion. This session is very informative and he has promised an episode 3 in the future. The a link to the video posted on you tube is below.

No Solution

This is our second day in Barcelona a city by the sea. The people are by far and large friendly and helpful. The title of the post refers to me trying to get my glasses repaired. The frame broke and the poor girl in the shop had poor English and announced after some thought that there was “no solution”. I bought a replacement pair of readers.
The city has wide main roads  and lots of interesting architecture. This is no small part due to the influence of the modern master Gaudi. His mark is everywhere and the art nouveau style or modernista as they seem to call it.
It is an interesting and appealing city.

Feedly Frenzy

I have been using Feedly for about a month since Google announced that their reader app was going to be retired this year. I liked the reader app for its simplicity. Feedly it turns out is more complex. It took me some time to adjust. I also found that the Feedly service was overwhelmed by the surge of new users.
The Feedly service is now more settled and works fine. I now enjoy RSS feeds in a magazine style layout. The service is cross platform and I use it on a windows laptop, iPhone and a nexus 7 android tablet. Updates are consistent across versions of Feedly which means that I am always up to date with my feeds.
I like the service best on the android tablet. The service is updated regularly so all is well with RSS feeds!

WordPress on android

This is my first post from an Android device. I have bought a Google nexus 7. So now I have another version of a WordPress app to play with. My initial impressions are good the size of the device is great. I like the keyboard with the predictive text appearing as I type.
I do find the iPhone too small for effective blogging. This device seems better. I don’t notice any real difference in sensitivity  of the keyboard.
Although the lack of a camera for quick blogging is a minor hassle there is always flickr Google+ etc to grab photos from so all is not lost.
So now I have been using the device for a for a few days now. I have installed most of the apps that I use on iOS. There are some apps that are not written for both operating system. In these instances I have sourced alternatives. Therefore I don’t feel deprived. I do think that some iOS apps are more polished. But the device is more than adequate and I quite like it. Might just be my never ending fascination with technology. I guess time will tell.

Another version of WordPress for iOS

Here we are again another version of the iOS app. Looks much the same we are promised real previews so I will see.
The app failed on the first download I had delete it and reinstall. All is well now.
And a picture to see if it all works!

I like to post

Another version of the WordPress app for iOS. Gets better I guess. I only really try it when there is an update. Should try it when I’m out and about (that last bit begs a Canadian accent.
I will have to add a photo as well to see if that works.

The Cat and Post Formats

The Not so amused cat (below) pretending to help me with the post formatting feature in WordPress.  I not sure what this offers but after reading a post in an wpbeginner.com  article I thought that it was worth a look. Still not sure what it does. I reverted to the default format and still nothing. I mean that the preview didn’t change at all. Here it is in all its image format glory.

I have read a few posts on WordPress sites that say or think that this is a good thing I am still not convinced.

The cat is reserving his opinion.
