In my previous post I extolled the virtues of an online tutorial about WordPress on Lynda.com . The most obvious outcome form that is I have installed a new theme WordPress 2017. There are however more subtle changes.
I have also been able to remove an annoying feature that I installed using a featured image on all posts. This seemed like a good idea at the time but I got sick of seeing a picture of my daughter’s cat every time I opened the blog.
I know also more fully appreciate the importance of using custom excerpts for my posts . This reduces the length of the quote as WordPress will by default use the whole post as an excerpt. May this will result in an easier experience for mobile users. This was the thrust of the tutorial that there has been a shift in users moving from desktop computers to mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
I am looking forward to learning more as continue to explore the online tutorial.
